The Village Nursing Care Centre in Craughwell has recently launched a home care service with a difference.
The Village Home Care packages provide a variety of services from meal preparation to personal hygiene, delivered by a care team which has been carefully selected and will be regularly audited by care coordinators.
The service is unique because of its access to a number of exclusive services, including day care, respite care, medical holidays, physiotherapy, and complementary medicine.
The Village Care Centre is the only home care provider offering such a comprehensive home care service. Combination packages are available for clients who require day care or respite weekends as an add-on to their home care package.
Day care at The Village Care Centre offers a substitute care solution for carers while also offering an alternative social outlet for the day visitor. Day visitors can avail of the hair dressing salon, play a game of 25 in the wine bar, or receive a free physiotherapy assessment. Reduced price occupational therapy and physiotherapy treatments are also available to home care clients.
Speaking about the service, owner Dr Bhatti commented; “This service will provide a much needed support structure for carers who need a break for a couple of hours or a couple of days. Clients of the service, and their carers, will be put at ease knowing that their care provider is a representative of The Village Nursing Care Centre.”
Medical holidays at the centre will provide a much needed break for the primary carer, and the clients will receive a visit from a home care representative to ensure that they are fully at ease in their new surroundings. The familiarity with the home care service will ensure a smoother transition from home to short term residential stays.
The service is available in a variety of locations including Ballinasloe, Woodford, Loughrea, Oranmore, Clarinbridge and surrounding areas. It will offer those living alone, or caring for a family member, the opportunity to receive help with the activities of daily living from a compassionate and caring home care assistant.
