The toilets at Rinville Park in Oranmore must remain open during the summer months as many families are using the park with the onset of the fine weather.
This is the view of Independent councillor Jim Cuddy who is calling on the Galway County Council to ensure the toilets remain open.
“Some people who contacted me regarding this issue had visitors with them at Rinville Park and they were embarrassed that the public facilities were locked,” he said.
Cllr Cuddy met with a council official regarding this matter and was informed me that the local authority is trying to take on a temporary caretaker to look after the toilets during the summer months.
“Rinville Park is a major tourist attraction,” said Cllr Cuddy. “It is essential these public toilets are opened and I will continue to liaise with council officials regarding this matter
