Gardaí have appealed to the public for information following a number of burglaries at the weekend.
The first break-in occurred on Saturday afternoon in Bohermore. A house in the area was broken into at some time between 2pm and 7pm. A black Olympus digital camera, a black Toshiba laptop, and a black Hewlett Packard laptop were stolen.
An attempted break in occurred at a house on College Road on the same day. Shortly after 2pm on Saturday, two men attempted to force open a door to the house. They fled the scene and were last seen at Lough Atalia.
Both men were described as between 30 and 35 years of age, and both had fair hair. Both wore light grey jackets and blue jeans.
A grey welder and a yellow power pack were taken from a house in Clonboo on Easter Sunday. Thieves entered the house at some time between 1pm and 8pm. Anyone who noticed suspicious activity in the area, or who has been offered any of the stolen items for sale, is asked to contact Galway Garda station at (091 ) 538000.
