City company benefits from Cowen’s St Patrick’s Day US trip

A Galway City-based recruitment company has benefited from the trade mission led to the US by Taoiseach Brian Cowen this week by yesterday (Wednesday ) signing a lucrative deal to provide medical staff to hospitals, medical offices, and surgical centres in the US.

Stateside Solutions which has its European headquarters at the Liosban Business Park provides permanent and temporary staff placements for small and medium-size employers, as well as multinational companies operating in the US.

Last night it announced a partnership with Atrium Staffing, a New York-based talent solutions firm servicing client locations around the US.

The companies will join forces to develop a division specialising in healthcare staffing. The partnership will initially concentrate on providing staffing solutions to medical offices, hospitals and surgical centres in the Tristate region of the northeastern U.S. The agreement has an initial estimated value of $1.5 million.

The partnership was announced during an Enterprise Ireland-supported Trade and Investment Mission to the US led by Taoiseach Brian Cowen. Enterprise Ireland is the state agency responsible for the development and promotion of the indigenous Irish business sector.

Stateside began its US business to address the challenges faced by foreign-owned companies seeking to employ top-quality talent in the U.S. It has strategically partnered with US staffing agency, Atrium Staffing, to offer its clients an expanded range of services, including ancillary staffing solutions such as payroll services, benefits and independent contractor vetting.

These services minimise the employment risks to clients and cover many of the administrative functions involved in hiring, allowing clients to focus on their core business.

"We're very pleased to be partnering with Atrium Staffing, a company with an excellent reputation in recruitment," said Mary Rodgers, President of Stateside Solutions.

"By combining our experience and relationships in the healthcare field with Atrium's established presence in the Northeastern U.S. we can greatly expand our service offerings, extend our presence and accelerate our growth in the U.S. over the next six months."

Rebecca Cenni, CEO of Atrium Staffing commented, "Our partnership with Stateside represents a strategic move for Atrium to solidify our already strong foothold in the healthcare market and pave the way for growth into new areas. Stateside brings expertise and processes that augment the service offerings Atrium clients have come to rely on. We're delighted to be collaborating with this expert team."
