Rugby fans will be glad to hear that The King’s Head has been picked as the venue to host the Galway AREA 22 event, in conjuction with Guinness and Today FM, on Thursday March 11.
Guinness teamed up with Today FM to host five AREA 22 supporter events across the country, on the Thursday before each game in the RBS Six Nations. Three hugely sucessful events have already taken place in Dublin, Cork, and Limerick before the Italian, French, and English games.
The Galway event at The King’s Head on High Street will see MC Matt Cooper being joined by Paul Wallace, Frankie Sheahan, Liam Toland, and Connacht and Ireland great Eric Elwood as they look back on Ireland’s campaign to date, and preview the big game against Wales at home in Croke Park on Saturday March 13.
The first half hour of the event, which takes place between 6.30pm and 7pm, will be broadcast on the Last Word on Today FM, and the remainder of the event, between 7pm and 8pm, will be streamed live on www.todayfm.com, with regular updates posted on www.facebook.com/guinnessrugbyireland “The AREA 22 supporter events will give fans across the country the chance to have their say in the company of some of the former greats of the game, both in person at the event, and through live interaction on the Guinness Rugby Facebook page” said Guinness Brand Manager, Stuart Kinch.

Tickets for the event in The King’s Head on March 11 are free, but you must register in advance by emailing [email protected] with your name, date of birth, and contact details. The event is strictly over 18 only and proof of age will be required.
