Some 30 employers in the hospitality industry from all over the country are to take part in the GMIT hotel school annual careers fair at Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology on Wednesday March 3.
The event, which runs from 10am to 12 noon at the Dublin Road campus, offers graduating students and unemployed people in the region a chance to find out at first hand about vacancies and career opportunities in the industry.
Cáit Noone, head of the hotel school, said that past students and visitors have found it very beneficial. “In addition to helping our students meet leaders in the industry prior to finishing here in May, this event will also assist people who are currently seeking jobs in the industry,” she added.
“Many unemployed in this region may have managerial skills or prior hospitality experience and our industry is always looking for great team leaders and operators. I would advise anyone attending to come prepared and bring current copies of your CV along. The hospitality industry is fighting through this recession, so do not miss this occasion to further your career, network, and open a door to a new career path in an exciting and dynamic industry.”
The GMIT hotel school careers fair will be coordinated by final year BA hotel management students as part of their event management module. For further information on this event contact Cáit Noone on (091 ) 742236 or email [email protected]
