The Galway Film Centre is running courses in filmmaking, writing, and animation for beginners and those with some knowledge.
The seven weekend film foundation course starts on Saturday March 6. Participants are guided by experienced filmmakers to make a short film and are introduced to cameras, lighting, sound recording, writing, and all elements of production.
There is a one day scriptwriting workshop on Saturday February 27 where participants’ work is acted out in class, under the guidance of David Keating, the director of The Last Of The High Kings and Wakewood.
For those interested in animation or who want to learn how to use i-stop motion, there is a six evening class for beginners starting on Tuesday March 23 with artist Aideen Barry. The aim of this course is that participants will be able to make short animations on a mobile phone or a pocket camera with photos, videos, clay, or drawings.
Class sizes are limited. To book a place email [email protected] or call 091 - 770748.
