Stolen speedboat found in Limerick

A speedboat worth an estimated €10,000 which was stolen in the city this week has been found in Limerick.

The boat, which was taken from the Ivor’s Motorcycles premises in Shantalla in the early hours of Tuesday, was found in the Ennis Road area of Limerick city yesterday morning.

Gardaí were last evening awaiting official identification by the owner of the boat, who travelled to Limerick yesterday.

Thieves took the twin engine speedboat along with a trailer from the yard outside Ivor’s at around 5.45am on Tuesday after using an angle grinder to cut through the lock on the front gate of the premises.

Gardaí from Galway and Roxboro Road Garda station in Limerick have launched a joint investigation into the theft.
