Mazda gives the Scrappage Scheme a sporty look

Mazda tells us customers can save up to €3,500 on the price of a new Mazda 2 resulting in an entry price of €10,995 for the three-door Comfort model, writes Padraic Deane.

Considering the Mazda2 was voted as the 2008 World Car of the Year by a global jury, including myself representing Ireland, and that it has a maximum five-star rating from Europe NCAP, this is an offer any prospective new car buyer should look at.

For an additional €800, Mazda says customers can upgrade to the Touring model, which includes A/C, 15” alloy wheels, side/rear curtain air bags and leather steering wheel with audio controls. Mazda claims this price and specification combination offers one of the best packages in the segment today.

It adds to this the brand’s reputation for reliability - cars that are 100 per cent manufactured in Japan resulting in renowned quality style and an exciting driving experience.

Mazda3

For the best offers in the Family Car segment, the all new Mazda3, launched in the Irish market only last October, offers a great option for customers who wish to avoid the mainstream alternatives. With an entry point of just €17,995 for the 1.6 diesel version, the Mazda3 is very competitive. And it is in Band A with just €104 road tax a year.

The new Mazda3 has also been awarded the five-star maximum rating by Euro NCAP after extensive crash testing.

Mazda says dynamic and sporty styling with exhilarating driving performance, along with this recognition from Euro NCAP, offers the customer a unique combination of safety, style and guaranteed reliability.
