Citylink case adjourned for two months
A case in which the Galway-based bus company, Citylink, was accused of running unlicensed routes has been adjourned for hearing on March 8.
Company officials were summonsed by the Director of Public Prosecutions to appear before Galway District Court, charged with running an unlicensed express route between Dublin and Galway.
Citylink, which is owned by the Singapore-based global transport company ComfortDelGro, is permitted to run a service with scheduled stops under the terms of an existing licence.
But the Department of Transport says the company does not have a licence for a non-stop service.
An application by Citylink for a licence to run an express route is before the department for consideration.
The emergence of the new bus service in recent months has led to ongoing price wars on the Dublin-Galway route with rival operators, Bus Eireann and GoBus.
