• In a closely-fought and exciting game Bearnau-13 boys overcame Titans 26-22 at Mary’s College on Sunday. Although Titans won the first and second quarter, Bearna rallied well to win the last two quarters and secure the game. Mark Dennigan started the scoring for Bearna while points from David Givich and Neil Kilbane kept Bearna in touch. David Byrne, Adam Jacobsen and Gavin O Toole defended well, while Givich got through the Titans’ defence to score three baskets, well assisted by Jonathon Pesaitis and Kenneth Pesaitis. Ball handlers Neil Kilbane and Diarmuid McGee took good control of the play, and, assisted by Dara Regan, closed the gap.
