Communion wear fashion show at Anthony Ryan’s

Anthony Ryan’s annual fashion show devoted exclusively to Communion wear will take place at Anthony Ryan’s on Tuesday January 19 at 7.30pm.

Parents are invited to go along to view the fashion show together with their children who are making their first holy Communion this year. The fashion show will preview this season’s collection of exclusive Communion wear, with the clothes modelled by children from local schools. The show will feature both boys’ and girls’ fashions and Ryan’s will be showing all the latest trends in Communion wear.

For girls, Ryan’s stocks exclusive internationally designed ranges of Communion dresses from The Isabella Collection, White Angel, Weise, and Brian Corella. Many of the exquisite designs are also of Irish manufacture. The ranges have been chosen in such a way as to offer the greatest choice in both styling and prices. Sizes start at age seven and continue up to ‘size plus’, catering for faster growing children.

Styling in Communion is simple, elegant, and classically romantic. Ankle length and full length dresses are particularly popular this year, with the princess style lending a fairytale feel. Satin and organza tend to be the most popular fabrics. Embroidery tends to be discreet and large simple bowties or buttons to the back are a strong feature. Head dresses and tiaras are simple and elegant, while dresses with boleros complete the total look. There is an abundance of delightful accessories such as bags, gloves, umbrellas, socks and tights. You can also get Communion footwear which is sold in satin finishes and ballet styles.

Boys’ Communion fashions vary greatly but the classic jacket and tie is still the favourite. Ryan’s offers dapper formal suits, less formal waistcoat suits, or your son may wish to dress casually and choose an outfit from the huge selection of boyswear on offer at the Ryan’s boys’ department.

The fashion show will take place on the first floor of the shop and, while there is no charge, numbers are limited. There will also be 10 per cent discount off all Communion wear purchased on the night. Tickets are available at the store can be reserved by telephoning (091 ) 567061.
