Even before it went on sale here with an entry price of €18,395, the new Kia Venga won one of the most prestigious international design awards.
The stylish new B-segment MPV, unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September, was been awarded the prestigious 'iF' product design award that recognises design quality, as well as a number of other criteria, including workmanship, level of innovativeness and eco-friendliness.
The new model is manufactured exclusively in Europe for European consumers, and is backed by Kia’s unique seven-years 150,000km warranty . Kia says the Venga name has a dynamic sound that suits Kia’s latest family car, echoing Kia’s core brand value – the “Power to Surprise”.
At 4,068mm long Kia Venga features an unusually long wheelbase for its class (2,615mm ) – and a 1,600mm high roofline to maximise cabin space. Skilful packaging also ensures the Venga redefines its MPV category by offering levels of interior space typical of many larger C-segment vehicles, but within a B-segment footprint.
Reflecting the demand by Irish consumers for economical and more environmentally friendly vehicles Kia Motors Ireland says it has opted for Kia’s ecodynamic package – Intelligent Stop & Go technology and low-rolling resistance tyres as standard equipment . The tangible benefits for this are low VRT (A band ), low road tax (€104 ) and fuel economy up to 4.5 litres per 100km (61mpg ) .
The new Kia Venga uses the latest active and passive safety technologies to ensure maximum protection for its occupants. Kia confidently anticipates that Venga will become the company’s fourth consecutive model to attain the maximum five-star Euro NCAP crash safety rating – placing it among the safest cars in its MPV class.
“We are very excited about this new product,” commented Kia Motors Ireland’s managing director James Brooks. “ The segment is quite small in Ireland but we are anticipating healthy consumer response for Venga and are confident that it can repeat the success of cee’d sporty wagon in growing and becoming number one in a lifestyle segment.”
The new Venga will be available in two trims levels LX (€18,395 ) and EX (€19,695 ) and one thrifty 1.4 diesel engine.
