A public meeting to explore “a permanent and lasting solution” to the recurring flooding problem at Moneymore, Oranmore, takes place tonight.(Thursday )
The meeting, which will be chaired by Fine Gael senator Fidelma Healy Eames, takes place tonight at 8.30pm in the Oranmore Lodge Hotel. In attendance will be the Office of Public Works members.
“This year four families were displaced and others spent weeks saving their homes from flooding,” according to Sen Healy Eames. “The road was inaccessible for more than a week. Local people are angry as flooding happened before in this area but the promised course of action was not delivered by the Local Authority.”
