Kenny’s Bookshop & Art Gallery, in association with auction house Mullen’s, Laurel Park, is to hold an auction of fine art and furniture this weekend.
The auction will take place at Kenny’s Auction Rooms, above Kenny’s Bindery, in the Liosban Retail Park, Tuam Road, on Sunday at 12 noon sharp. Viewing will take place from today to Saturday from 10am to 6pm and on Sunday from 10am to 12 noon.
Furniture highlights include a Victorian mahogany, walnut, and polychrome occasional table by Gillow & Co; an Edwardian mahogany desk by Maple & Co; a Georgian mahogany secretaire library bookcase; and a pair of Georgian style mahogany brass bound peat buckets.
There is also a selection of rustic country style furniture included as well as cabinets, chairs, clocks, and lamps.
The work of major artists such as Francis Bacon, Louis Le Brocquy, Kenneth Webb, Maurice Wilks, Harry Kernoff, Mark Kavanagh (Rasher ), Patrick Hennessy, William Conor, Richard Ward, Arthur Maderson, George Campbell, and Patrick Copperwhite are included. There are also many recent paintings and prints with very low estimates.
