Movie extras wanted

MovieExtras.ie has announced details of its open day in Galway on Saturday November 7 to recruit extras for film, TV, and commercial productions. The recruitment drive is on the back of involvement with Jack Taylor and another major production which will be shooting soon. MovieExtras.ie is on the look-out for people of all different backgrounds, ages and looks. A bit of Gaelige may also help for future Irish language productions (but is not a requirement ). And of course no experience is required.

Commenting on the open day, Derek Quinn, director of MovieExtras.ie said: “We are working with a number of productions in the west and hope to be working with more over the next 12 months. We need local people who are available to be involved in

film, television and adverts”. He continues, “MovieExtras.ie was established in 2002 and members have been involved in over 1,000 productions throughout Ireland.” The photoshoot will cost €99 to include two professional photos and a 12 month

subscription to the MovieExtras.ie directory service. Families are welcome to attend, and there is a special rate of €299 for up to six members.

Through the unique directory provided by MovieExtras.ie, production companies and casting directors can recruit artists online for free. While it is primarily extras on the directory, there are also members with significant experience in acting, modelling and

VO. Earlier this year one of the members got the role of a lifetime, to present The Irish Golf Show on SKY Sports Europe, involving travelling to London a regular basis to hang out with Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, and others on the tour circuit.

For people who cannot make it on the day, you can register on www.MovieExtras.ie
