The Twelve hotel in Bearna celebrates another award

Galway hotel The Twelve in Bearna has won a prestigious hospitality award.

The Twelve is among the winners for the Best Boutique Hotel in the National Hospitality Ireland Awards 2009 which were announced during the National Hospitality Conference at Dublin’s Four Seasons Hotel. The other hotels were the Ice House in Ballina and the Dylan in Dublin 4.

Since it opened The Twelve has won numerous awards for its two restaurants. West at The Twelve received no fewer than six nominations from Food and Wine Magazine and was one of only three other places in Ireland to win the prestigious Wine Spectator award for “one of the most outstanding wine lists in the world”. Prior to this year, The Twelve won Best New Hotel at the Hospitality Ireland Awards, the Georgina Campbell Wine award for the fantastic wine offering at the West restaurant, and the Best Gastro Pub in Ireland award for the Pins BarBistro at the Restaurants Association of Ireland Oscars.

. General manager Fergus O’Halloran says the hotel is delighted to have received its latest award.

“We have put a lot of love, thought, and hard work into making The Twelve what it is today, and we’re delighted to be recognised for this.

“Our goal was to combine all the best ideas, our favourite experiences, the most demanding standards to produce a hotel that’s timeless, immediately appealing, and very special. With The Twelve, we hope we have achieved this and will continue to maintain this. It has been a nice way to finish the year as this brings our total number of major awards to that perfect number -Twelve.”
