Traditional folk tales, music, dancing, food and refreshments are all on offer at the Czech and Slovak cultural evening from the Language Institute at the Granary Learning Centre on Sunday November 22 from 5pm to 8pm.
The Language Institute is celebrating a week of Czech and Slovak culture from November 20 to 27. A multi-coloured and multi-faceted calendar of events is planned to present Czech and Slovak culture from several interesting angles.
Sunday, November 22 will see a puppet show, music, medieval market and food, and a selection of Czech ghost stories from 5pm, at a cost of €5.
On Monday November 23 from 6pm to 7.30pm there will be an easy introduction to the Slovak language, admission is €20
Tuesday November 24 from 6pm to 7.30pm a Czech in 90 minutes class will provide an easy introduction to the Czech language at a cost of €20.
From 9pm to late on Thursday November 26 will be a Czech and Slovak beer festival with pub games, the venue has yet to be announced, and admission is free.
On Friday November 27 at 7pm there will be a film evening with free admission.
Throughout the week from Novemeber 22 to 29 there will be a free exhibition of photography, painting, and drawings from local Czech and Slovak artists.
