Soap Opera comes to town

The Irish Soap and Candle Company has opened its new Galway shop in Middle Street.

The shop is part of a retail expansion that includes new shops in Nenagh, Kilkenny, Killarney, Tralee, Thurles, Clonmel, and Athlone.

The Galway shop is the company’s biggest shop to date and is located close to other candle shops in Galway, producing a kind of candle cluster in the Abbeygate Street/Middle Street area.

The company is the retail arm of Soap Opera Ltd Wholesale which was established in 1989 and is based in Nenagh, Co Tipperary. Soap Opera supplies gift and craft shops, pharmacies, hotels, and restaurants throughout Ireland. The new shop will sell and display its vast range of candles and candle accessories, soap and bath products, as well as Christmas gifts and hampers at retail, wholesale, and factory shop prices. The shop will double up as a wholesale showroom and also be a new local source for trade customers.

Soap Opera has for the last 20 years supplied all the major retailers in Ireland, and managing director Will Hogan has developed very strong relationships with soap and candle companies in Ireland, the UK, and the EU. It is the benefits of these strong relationships that makes the shops so attractive, dealing directly with manufacturers means better value can be passed on the customer.

Soap Opera also designs and makes its own gift sets, including candle sets and pamper hampers. These gifts are designed and assembled in Nenagh and in the shops.

The shop will also operate as a factory outlet and will be used from time to time to clear discontinued products and end of season lines from the Soap Opera Wholesale ranges. Look out for offers throughout the shop including special opening offers.

The Irish Soap and Candle Company Shop offers a range of products along with expert advice and helpful decorating tips that will allow you to create an oasis of calm in your own home — relaxing incense is always burning, lifting your spirits as you enter the shop.
