ITAG calls on students to design top tech webpage and win laptops

Be in with a chance to win two Hewlett Packard laptops in the ITAG’s annual schools competition! This year, it is challenging Transition Year, 5th and 6th years to come up with the most imaginative, informative and entertaining webpage about technology in a real test of the imagination!

The aim is to create a simple webpage designed to entertain and inform about science and technology. The page should be created using www.pageflakes.com - just visit http://www.pageflakes.com/itag to see a sample page and to see instructions on how to get started.

Designing a page is as easy as setting up a Bebo page – you can add text, pictures, feeds to other websites, podcasts, games and video. It is looking for all things technology related. It can take as little as one hour to put together a page – although you can spend as long as you like!

This competition is supported by GMIT, NUI Galway and Hewlett Packard and is open to Transition Year, 5th and 6th students in the Western region.

Schools are permitted to submit more than one application per school and entries must be endorsed by a teacher. The winner is announced at the ITAG Gala Awards Dinner in November.

Two laptops will be awarded to the winning entry – one for the student and one for the school. Deadline for entries is Friday November 6. Shortlisted entries will be announced on www.itag.ie and on www.pageflakes.com/itag by Friday 13 November, and the winner will be announced on Friday 20 November at the ITAG Gala Awards Dinner.
