However next year, Councillor Hildegarde Naughton will not be going west but instead going east to become the ward of a Japanese tailor and secret love of a Japanese musician.
No, Cllr Naughton will not be going on some political junket for a saucy adventure to the Far East. She will be taking the role of Yum Yum in Gilbert & Sullivan’s The Mikado which will be staged by The Patrician Musical Society in the Town Hall Theatre from March 9 to 13 2010.
As well as being the FG councillor for Galway City West, Cllr Naughton is also an award winning actress and singer who has appeared in productions of Calamity Jane and My Fair Lady.
