New range as Gaeilge for Judy Greene

World renowned potter Judy Greene celebrates 26 years in business in Galway this year. To celebrate this incredible achievement, Judy Greene is currently producing a new range of pottery featuring the use of the Irish language in association with Gaillimh le Gaeilge.

At the launch on Monday, Ms Greene presented Minister for Community, Rural, and Gaeltacht Affairs Éamon Ó Cuív with a specially commissioned lamp, ‘Lampa na Gaillimhe’. The lamp depicts various elements and famous locations in and around Galway city. Minister Ó Cuív thanked Judy Greene and congratulated her on her 26 years in business. “This is a very tangible example of how businesses can use the Irish language to their advantage,” he added.

Judy Greene Pottery was established in 1982 in the heart of medieval Galway, specialising in hand thrown terracotta depicting Irish flora and landscape. Judy's signature range and best loved is her bluebell design. Her extensive collection includes dinnerware, lighting, bathroom pieces, and flower pots, in fact, something for every room in the home. Other patterns include fuchsia, wildflowers, iris, gentian, montbreshia, and primrose.

Judy Greene Pottery is located in Kirwan’s Lane.
