A NEW six-part nature series, Ciomhtioch Gan Cuireadh, or 'Alien Invaders' starts on TG4 tomorrow at 8.30pm and features music by Galway’s Johnny Finn.
The series takes a broad look at Irish wildlife and shows how the increasingly extreme Mediterranean climate is leading to a dramatic rise in the numbers of exotic species of birds and maritime fish settling in Ireland and arriving on the coast.
The music for the series, including the intro tune, is composed and produced by Johnny Finn but some re-vamped traditional airs and tunes are performed by his brother, the late Mickey Finn. Also contributing is Johnny’s other brother Billy on flute.
The series is produced by Waxwing Wildlife Productions and directed by John Murphy and Stan Nugent. The narrator is Eoghan Ó Riada.
