Daly set to add another title

Galway kickboxer Eric Daly will fight for the IKF Five Nations Title Belt on Saturday.

Daly, who is the current IKF All Ireland superlightweight champion, will take on English Champion Shaun Hurdman from Birmingham over a scheduled five two-minute rounds.

The fight is the main event of an international full contact kickboxing tournament that will take place in Daly’s home town of Gort.

Another feature fight sees Clarergalway woman Catherine Cullinan taking on Louise Wilson from Manchester for the vacant IKF Ladies Five Nations Lightweight Belt.

Local hero and European supermiddleweight champion Cathal Manning is back in action in a four-round contest, taking on WelshmanJames Wallace from Cardiff in an international superfight, while Aidan Brooks takes on Robert Miscow from Poland in a heavyweight full K-1 rules contest.

In an exciting international undercard fight, Galway’s Shane Creaven facesWelshman Chris Jones, while Ireland’s two top juniors, Eddie Barnaville from Thurles and Limerick’s Sean Benson, will go at it for the IKF Junior All Ireland Strawweight Title over five rounds.

There will be another 11 fights featuring Galway kickboxers taking on the rest of Ireland. The action, which takes place in the Gort Community Centre, starts at 7pm.
