Galway Arts Festival readings

STEVEN GALLOWAY, author of the profoundly moving, The Cellist Of Sarajevo, will read in the Radisson SAS Hotel this Friday at 6pm and not in the Hotel Meyrick as previously advertised.

The Cellist Of Sarajevo is a story about survival, the temptation to hate and the refusal to do so, and the persistence of the human spirit in a time of fear and suffering. Galloway is also the author of Finnie Walsh and Ascension. He teaches Creative Writing at the University of British Columbia and Simon Fraser University, Canada.

Also reading as part of the festival is Ben Anderson at the Hotel Meyrick on Saturday at 4pm. A reporter for the BBC and Discovery channel, Anderson’s programmes include Frontline Football - which looked at four nations trying to qualify for the World Cup - and the BBC series Holidays In The Axis Of Evil.

For tickets contact the festival box office, Merchants Road, 091 - 566577. Tickets are also available through www.galwayartsfestival.com
