The Ballybane community hub has become a place to connect, create and belong and has opened the doors with one simple goal: to create a warm and welcoming space where people of all ages can connect, learn and feel at home.

Located at 30 Béal Srutha, H91 TW27, the hub is open Monday to Friday from 11:00am to 2:00pm and offers a welcoming space for everyone. Drop in for a cuppa and a chat, enjoy a quiet read of the paper or a good book, or get involved in a wide range of inclusive community activities. There’s always a warm welcome waiting.

The hub also hosts youth and health events, art workshops, cookery demonstrations, and community information sessions, alongside relaxed social activities such as board game evenings. A dedicated monthly Garda clinic is also in operation at the hub, offering an accessible and informal space for advice and support.

The hub is a hive of activity, hosting a variety of youth and health events, art workshops, cookery demonstrations and community information sessions. Alongside these, there are plenty of relaxed social activities, including board game evenings that bring people together in a friendly, informal setting.

The next board game evening in the Ballybane community hub is on Wednesday, February 18, from 6:30pm. It's a lovely social event where you can enjoy a tea or coffee with a biscuit and a chat.

A dedicated monthly Garda clinic also operates from the hub, providing an accessible and informal space where people can seek advice, ask questions and get support. The hub will host the next Garda clinic on Friday, February 27, between 2:00pm and 3:00pm. Garda Kenneth Boyle will be in attendance to give advice on crime prevention, sign any documentation or if you want to report a crime.

Designed with inclusivity in mind, the hub features a state-of-the-art sensory room, a private meeting room, kitchen facilities, and an open, comfortable area for people to spend time together.

Community safety is also a priority, with a defibrillator located in the nearby Merlin Estates. A photo of the defibrillator is attached, and CPR/AED life-saving classes will be held at the hub in the near future.

"Community isn't just about services, it's about people feeling welcome, seen and supported, said local activist and 2024 local area candidate, Donal Lynch. "The hub is a place where you can come as you are, whether you need information, connection, creativity, or just a friendly face and a warm cup of tea or coffee."

The hub is designed as an inclusive, shared space shaped by the people who use it, a place that responds to local needs and brings generations together. Everyone is welcome, whether you’re popping in for a five-minute chat or settling down for an afternoon cuppa with Martina.
