High standard in Galway Federation ICA children’s art competition

Galway Federation ICA recently ran an art competition for National School children kindly sponsored by Cregal Art, Monivea Road, Galway. The challenge was to design at cover for a St. Brigid’s day card. 184 entries were received from six schools across the county

Judging took place in Cregal Art, where first and second places were chosen in the different categories, due to the particularly high standard in the 5th and 6th class category, there were 2 highly commended entries chosen.

Results

1st place in 1st and 2nd class category – Melaniia Banska from Scoil Mhuire NS, Clifden; 2nd place in 1st and 2nd class category – Finn Kelly from Scoil Mhuire NS, Clifden; 1st place in 3rd and 4th class category – Aoibheann Keane from Bawnmore NS, Claregalway; 2nd place in 3rd and 4th class category – Jack Connolly from Kiltiernan NS, Kilcolgan; 1st place in 5th and 6th class category – Hollie Anna Bohan from Scoil Mhuire NS, Clifden; 2nd place in 5th and 6th class category – Ava Linnane from Scopil Mhuire NS, Clifden; Highly commended in 5th and 6th class category were Ruby Langan and Lynn Sherlock both from Naomh Fursa, Claran, Headford

Prizes were awarded to children in Cregal Art on Saturday last.
