The Clifden Arts Festival is proud to present a major highlight of this year’s Visual Arts Programme: an exhibition of handmade fine art prints from the renowned Dublin-based studio Stoney Road Press. Running from September 16 to 27, the Stoney Road Press exhibition will take place in the Station House Museum, Clifden.

Founded over twenty years ago, Stoney Road Press has become one of Ireland’s leading print studios, collaborating with many of the nation’s most celebrated contemporary artists. This special Clifden exhibition showcases work by an extraordinary line-up, including Alice Maher, Elizabeth Magill, Sophie Gough, Donald Teskey, Diana Copperwhite, Brian Harte, Charles Tyrrell, Barbara Rae, Anne Madden, Louis le Brocquy, Dorothy Cross, Bill Rock, Richard Gorman, Leah Hewson, William Crozier and Kelvin Mann.

The collection offers audiences a rare opportunity to experience works by artists whose primary practice is painting, translated into the intricate language of printmaking. From early collaborations with masters such as Anne Madden and Louis le Brocquy to recent editions by Diana Copperwhite and Donald Teskey, the exhibition reflects the breadth and innovation of Irish visual art across generations.

With the support of Culture Ireland, Stoney Road Press editions have been exhibited annually at major international art fairs in London, New York, Chicago and Miami. Now, in Clifden, visitors can encounter these acclaimed works in the intimate setting of the Station House Museum.

The exhibition opens on Tuesday, September 16 at 6:30pm, and will run daily from 10:30am to 5:30pm until Saturday, September 27.

Clifden Arts Festival Director Des Lally said, “We are delighted to welcome Stoney Road Press to this year’s Festival. Their collaborations have given Irish artists a global platform, and this exhibition brings that spirit of excellence and experimentation to Connemara.”

This event forms part of the Festival’s commitment to presenting world-class art in the heart of Connemara, offering both locals and visitors the chance to engage with exceptional work rarely seen outside major cities.
