The Renault Master has been named the UK's most reliable light commercial vehicle (LCV ) by motor warranty specialist Warranty Solutions Group (WSG ).
WSG found that the Renault Master has a low claim rate of just 4.55 per cent, edging the likes of the Vauxhall/Opel Combo, Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and Ford Transit to top spot.
In a market where reliability is paramount, exclusive data from WSG uncovers the top-performing light commercial vehicles. Its findings are based on a sample of 1,000 LCV repair claims paid by WSG in the UK between January 1 and December 31, 2024.
To ensure a fair analysis, WSG said the data excluded any models with less than 100 sales across its UK dealer network.
According to WSG, the top three most common warranty claims for the Renault Master were starter motors/solenoids averaging £446.96, Adblue pumps (£1,210.45 ) and turbochargers (£1,372.67 ).
The Vauxhall/Opel Combo Cargo secured second place with a claim rate of just 10.86 per cent. Its three most common issues were Adblue injectors averaging £285, turbochargers (£884.00 ) and DPFs (£1,542.20 ).
In third was the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, with a claim rate of 11.20 per cent. WSG found the Sprinter's top problems to be alternators averaging £444.85, starter motors/solenoids (£496.58 ) and Nox sensors (£686.21 ).
The Citroen Berlingo ranks as the sixth most reliable vehicle, and notably, it boasts the lowest average claim value - which WSG says makes it a cost-effective choice for drivers.
The ever-popular Ford Transit came in eighth, with a claim rate of 15.82 per cent and an average claim value of £584.21.
