Monroe’s Live will host an exciting weekend of music and celebration, featuring a mix of tribute acts, home-grown talent, and high-energy trad this St Patrick’s weekend.

On Friday, March 14, actress and singer Maria Doyle Kennedy takes to the stage for an intimate, fully seated performance alongside her husband and collaborator, Kieran Kennedy.

Known for her versatility across folk, alt-pop, and bluegrass, Maria has released 11 solo albums, including Fire on the Roof of Eden, which was named one of the albums of the year by The Irish Times.

From 9pm, Showdown: The Electric Light Orchestra Experience will transport audiences back to the rock era of ELO. Fans can expect classic hits like Mr. Blue Sky, Evil Woman, and Last Train to London in a tribute to a band that sold over 50 million records worldwide.

The weekend celebrations continue on Saturday, March 15, with Galway’s own Opacas bringing their fusion of rock, blues, and Americana to Monroe's Backstage venue from 7:30pm.

Fresh from recording at Abbey Road, the band—comprising Steve Talbot, Peter Tobin, Pat Boyle, and Mark Raynor—has built a loyal following thanks to their collaborations within the local arts scene. They will be joined by KaRoSal, the Galway-based trio featuring Kara Donohoe, Róna O’Riordan, and Sarah Toomey.

To round off the night, DJ Fergal D’Arcy returns to Monroe’s Live at 11pm, with a set packed with late-night party anthems.

Voted Ireland’s Number 1 Radio DJ for three consecutive years, the Ballinasloe native has made a name for himself on Clare FM, iRadio, Today FM, and now 2FM.

The festivities continue on Monday, March 17, from 7pm, when Galway’s own Galvian Way brings a trad performance to Monroe's Live. Featuring Paul McClure on bodhrán, Maidhc Ó hÉanaigh on flute, Declan Corey on mandolin, and Ger Clancy, Seosamh Ó Fátharta, and Mick Clancy on fiddle, along with dancer Ailbhe Davoren, this ensemble captures the heart and soul of Irish music and culture.
