Opacas and KaRoSal to rock Monroe’s Live on St Patrick’s Weekend

The Opacas.

The Opacas.

With a heady mix of rock, blues and Americana, one of Galway’s favourite fun-loving bands, the Opacas will perform at Monroe’s Live on Saturday, March 15, at 8pm.

This is their special Abbey Road homecoming, as they return from recording new material for the St Patrick’s weekend celebrations.

Musicians Steve Talbot, Peter Tobin, Pat Boyle and Mark Raynor have a strong community following thanks to their melodic, harmony-driven, power pop.

This quartet delves into a range of themes, navigating from comedic to chaotic, using their life experience to explore challenges and celebrations through song.

The Opacas actively embrace the local artistic community, partnering with fellow creatives to develop funny, story-based videos.

As a group, they are firmly rooted in the local music scene, thanks to collaborations with amateur theatre groups across the city and county.

Born out of lockdown, The Opacas began with a mission to entertain. And they have certainly achieved their goal.

They will be joined on the night by Galway-based trio KaRoSal, featuring Kara Donohoe, Róna O’Riordan and Sarah Toomey.

Tickets to The Opacas Monroe’s Live on Friday, March 15, at 8pm cost €10 and are available from www.monroes.ie
