Interested in hillwalking? Whether you are a beginner or an experienced hiker, Cumann Siúil Chois Coiribe could be the perfect club for you. Tonight you can find out.
Founded in 1999 and part of Mountaineering Ireland, the club explores the uplands of Galway, Clare, and Mayo, with trips further afield across Ireland and beyond. Past adventures have taken members to Scotland, Wales, the Lake District, Morocco, and even Everest Base Camp.
Walkers of all abilities are catered for, with each walk graded depending on its elevation, length and difficulty. Rock climbing is also one of their activities. Training is an important part of the club, which includes mountain skills and first aid courses.
The ethos of the club is that they are only as fast as their slowest walker, taking care to leave no trace, follow the highest safety standards, and of course to enjoy themselves.
Open Evening will be held tonight 7.30pm, Thursday 27th February, Menlo Park Hotel (H91 E98N )
