Corkborn singer Meadhbh Walsh

Last year was extraordinary for the Cork-born singer-songwriter.

She sold-out multiple headline tours in the USA, performed at numerous festivals, sold-out concerts across Ireland, and achieved a lifelong dream with a grand performance at the Gleneagle INEC Arena - something she had aspired to since her days busking in Killarney.

Walsh also performed in front of 20,000 fans at Belfast's Farmers Bash and released her acclaimed album, On My Own, which soared to Number 1 in the Irish charts.

Her journey began in Meelin, North Cork, where she discovered her love for music at an early age. While studying at University College Cork, she grappled with self-doubt about pursuing music full-time.

But her passion never wavered, and just two months after graduating in 2023, she embarked on her first US tour: a turning point that confirmed her place on the world stage.

Now at 23-years-old, Meadhbh combines traditional Irish folk with a contemporary twist, earning her comparisons to some of Ireland’s finest folk artists.

Whether she is delivering an original song or breathing new life into an old Irish classic, her soulful voice and powerful stage presence create a connection with her audience.

For Walsh, one of the most rewarding aspects of her career is sharing Irish music and heritage with audiences worldwide. She deeply believes in preserving the old while introducing new music to future generations.
