Monroe’s Live will host two performances that celebrate the rich heritage of Irish traditional music, and the original sound of home-grown indie rock this Saturday, February 15.
At 7.30pm, the renowned uilleann piper Paddy Keenan joins Dermot Byrne, the Donegal accordion virtuoso, and Tim Edey, the multi- award winning guitarist and accordionist, for a traditional Irish music performance.
Keenan is renowned for his work with the Bothy Band. Often described as ‘the piper’s piper,’ Keenan has been redefining traditional music for decades. His impact on the genre is profound, with critics likening his playing to water from a holy well.
Named BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards Musician of the Year, Tim Edey is known for his versatility and passion, having worked with folk icons like The Chieftains and Sharon Shannon.
Born into the musical heartland of Southwest Donegal, Dermot Byrne is lauded for his skill on the button accordion and melodeon.

This tour marks a significant milestone for the Tipperary native, known for his indie charm, honest storytelling, and earworm melodies.
Inspired by artists like Bicep and Sam Fender, O’Meara fuses indie rock with emotional depth, making songs that explore love, resilience, and the highs and lows of friendships and relationships. The tracks are infused with funky guitar riffs, pulsating drums, and powerful rock-tinged choruses.
Since the release of his 2020 EP, Looking Forward to Hindsight, he has continued to grow as an artist, supporting the likes of Hermitage Green, Hudson Taylor and Billow Wood.
