Mercedes-Benz and BYD are powering into 2025

Motors Distributors Limited (MDL ) has announced that 12 passenger car models across the Mercedes-Benz, BYD, and Xpeng are to be introduced in Ireland in 2025.

First to arrive, in January, will be the all-electric, mid-sized SUV, the Xpeng G6. This is the first model to launch on the Irish market from the Xpeng range. Also expected is the BYD Sealion 7, the high-performance, all-electric, mid-size SUV.

Other Q1 arrivals include a new version of the Mercedes-Benz G-Class.

The new Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 has been earmarked for Q2. It is a sporty two-seater cabriolet said to "redefine the open-air experience through exceptional luxury'.

Due in the third quarter are two all-electric models from BYD’s sub-compact product range. Namely, the five-door hatchback BYD Dolphin Mini and crossover SUV BYD Atto 2.

For Mercedes-Benz, Q3 is set to see the arrival of the first battery-electric version of its four-door CLA Coupé. Built on the newly developed Mercedes Modular Architecture (MMA ) platform, it will be followed, in Q4, with petrol-hybrid versions.

Other models scheduled for later in the year will be the mid-sized plug-in hybrid BYD Seal 06 DM-i, due to arrive in both saloon and estate versions.
