Cregmore Claregalway FC (CCFC ) has announced the launch of its most ambitious fundraising event yet, where players participate in a series of games with a chance to win €10K. CCFC’s ‘Quid Games’ will take place on January 31 2025.
Inspired by the global popularity of the Netflix series Squid Game, selected participants will have the chance to win €10K, with the option to donate part of their winnings to a charity of their choice.
To participate, individuals need to raise €2K for the club through sponsorship or fundraising efforts. Every team in the club is encouraged to nominate a player who will represent them on the night. Agility is a must for those who fancy their chances to take the top prize on what will undoubtedly be an evening full of entertainment.
This event is part of an ongoing fundraising campaign, which not only is essential for securing vital funds toward the club's development place but also provides an excellent opportunity for members and friends to come together in a social setting.
“As our club continues to grow, we are excited to welcome new members to both our boys’ and girls’ teams across all age groups," said Caroline Hurney, CCFC club secretary. "Currently boasting over 800 members, CCFC is experiencing rapid growth in our catchment area. However, we have long outgrown our existing facilities. Through efficient pitch allocation, a comprehensive maintenance plan, and collaboration with Turloughmore Hurling Club, we have managed to provide quality training experiences for our teams while also renting Astro pitches within the local community.”
Aiming high with a vision for the future
The club aims to purchase land to establish a permanent home and develop a full-sized Astro pitch, followed by the development of high-quality grass pitches, training areas, and a clubhouse.
“Our goal is to create a venue that showcases the diversity of our club teams, somewhere to meet and engage with club members in an area that displays our cups and trophies — a place where we can host matches and welcome traveling teams,” said Dave Sexton, club chairman.
The club is now actively pursuing suitable sites for development. A dedicated sub-committee is working diligently on this initiative and hopes to make an announcement soon.
CCFC has thrived thanks to the dedication of volunteer coaches and managers, supportive parents, committed players, and an incredibly generous community.
