Peugeot Ireland has opened order books for the new 5008, a seven-seat SUV available with both hybrid and fully electric powertrains.
Built on the advanced STLA Medium platform, the E-5008 starts from €50,995 (after grant ) and has a 73kWh battery and a 210hp motor, offering a WLTP range of up to 502km. DC fast charging allows for a 20 to 80 per cent recharge in 30 minutes. A 98kWh, 668 km long range variant is set to be released in early 2025.
Also starting from €50,995, the 5008 Hybrid 136 e-DCS6 features the Peugeot Hybrid 48V system, which consists of a new-generation 136hp petrol engine coupled with a dual-clutch six-speed gearbox that incorporates an electric motor. Thanks to a battery that recharges while driving, this technology offers extra torque at low revs and a claimed reduction of up to 15 per cent in fuel consumption (5.8-l/100 km in WLTP mixed cycle ). In urban driving, the new 5008 Hybrid 136 e-DCS6 can operate up to 50 per cent of the time in fully-electric zero-emission mode.
Peugeot already offers the broadest electric line-up of any mainstream European brand, with the E-5008 becoming its second entry into the large electric SUV following the launch of the new E-3008. The new E-5008 is the only model in the electric segment to offer up to 502km (WLTP ) of electric range and seating for seven passengers.
The new 5008 is available in Allure and GT trims. The Allure version of the 5008 features seats finished in embossed fabric with ‘Quartz’ stitching and leather-effect trim. It also comes with Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go function, wireless smartphone charging, keyless entry and start, 360 degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, blind spot detection, 3-claw LED daytime running lights and rear lights as well as 19-inch alloy wheels.
Building on this generous spec, GT versions offer a ‘Black Diamond’ roof and Alcantara upholstery featuring stylish ‘Iced Clay’ stitching (optional ). Additional equipment over the Allure trim offers 20-inch alloy wheels (optional ) for electric versions, Pixel LED headlights, 3D LED rear lights, a ‘Handsfree’ smart electric tailgate, heated seats and a heated steering wheel.
Inside, the 21-inch Peugeot Panoramic i-Cockpit (standard across all versions ) puts passengers in a high-tech and user-friendly environment. The raised head-up display and large central touchscreen have been integrated into a single curved panoramic screen. Below the screen is a configurable virtual i-Toggle display, which can be used to set up to 10 shortcuts.
All versions of the 5008 come with Peugeot’s i-Connect Advanced infotainment system, offering complete connectivity thanks to 3D connected navigation with over-the-air map updates, in addition to wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto compatibility and natural voice recognition.
All 5008 models include seven seats as standard, with easy access to the last row of seats thanks to a sliding and tilting second row with reclining backrests. The second-row seats slide and tilt in a 60/40 configuration, however they also feature a 40/20/40 folding backrest. To ensure comfort for all occupants, tri-zone climate control is included as standard, while GT trim adds window blinds for the second row and extends the eight-colour ambient lighting to the rear door panels.
