Trad musicians with modern touch, FourWinds

Fresh from the release of their new album Allta, traditional Irish band FourWinds will bring their rich and innovative sound to Monroe’s Live on Saturday, November 23, at 8pm.

Known for blending the depth of Irish trad music with a modern edge, FourWinds promises a night of pioneering tunes.

The trio, featuring Caroline Keane on concertinas, tin whistle, and vocals; Tom Delany on uilleann pipes and whistles; and Robbie Walsh on bodhrán and percussion, produce an exciting soundscape of instrumentals and lyrics presenting trad in a modern and creative way.

They are joined on this second album tour by guest musicians Alan Murray on bouzouki and guitar, Laura Kerr on fiddle, and Barry Kerr on flute, each adding layers of texture and tradition.

Over the past three years, the songs were crafted across multiple locations, from Ireland to Missouri.

The title, meaning ‘wild’ or ‘untamed’ in Irish, perfectly captures the music’s lively spirit.
