For Dr. Laura, skin health isn't just a professional focus—it's a passion that has shaped her entire career.
With a thriving clinic in Galway, and a background as a GP and skin health expert, she’s helping patients achieve their healthiest skin with a truly medical approach. We sat down with Dr Laura to chat about what led her to open her own clinic and what patients can expect when they walk through the doors.
What inspired you to start your skin clinic? Well, I’ve always been passionate about skin health. As a GP, I was often seeing patients struggling with skin issues like acne and rosacea but I felt there was a gap between what was available in a traditional GP setting and the high-level, tailored care patients really needed. That’s what led me to start the clinic—it’s about providing a space where people can access evidence based treatments for their skin from a medical perspective. Our aim is to make sure patients feel supported throughout their skin journey, offering care that is as holistic and personal as it is effective.
What’s the main focus of your clinic?
We really treat skin health as a whole. The clinic is based around personalised care—so the first thing we do is an in-depth consultation during which we talk through concerns, but we also dive into lifestyle factors and medical history. It’s a comprehensive approach so we can accurately figure out what your skin truly needs. For example, if someone comes in with acne, we’ll look at both treating the active breakouts and then addressing any related concerns, like scarring. Our goal is to offer treatments that get real results.

What would you say makes your clinic stand out from others?
I think what sets us apart is the combination of medical expertise and that personalised touch. We’re not just a beauty clinic—we offer treatments with medical rigour behind them, and patients can trust that they’re in good hands. At the same time, we take pride in creating a welcoming environment where patients feel supported and understood. Whether someone is coming in for a consultation about acne or looking for a treatment to soften fine lines, we make sure they feel heard and taken care of from start to finish.
Lastly, what’s your vision for the future of the clinic?
The goal is to continue evolving, both in terms of the treatments we offer and the way we support our patients. Skin health is such a personal journey, and I want the clinic to be a place where people feel empowered to take control of their skin, whether they’re dealing with a specific condition or just wanting to look and feel their best as they age. We’ll keep expanding, adding new treatments and refining our techniques, but ultimately, it’s always going to be about putting the patient first. As well as that we’re launching our new rebranded online store, www.phare.store at the beginning of November, which will make it easier for people to access a curated range of luxury skincare products in both Ireland and European wide.
