Peugeot has announced two long-range versions of its E-3008 and E-5008 will arrive in Ireland early next year.
The Peugeot E-3008 is already on sale in Ireland and has a range of 527km, with the new long range model now taking this up to a claimed 700 kilometres (WLTP ), thanks to a new 96.9 kWh usable battery.
Meanwhile, the new E-5008 which will be launched here in November with a 502km range, will also soon after come with the choice of a longer range 668 kilometre version.
For the long-range versions, Peugeot is introducing a 230 hp/170 kW powertrain with a high-capacity battery. This new powertrain joins the E-3008 and E-5008 range alongside the 210 hp/157 kW powertrain.
With the launch of this new long range version, Peugeot says the E-3008 and E-5008 will now benefit from a new battery pre-conditioning system, allowing for optimised charging times during long journeys.
These new models will also bring improvements in charging time. According to Peugeot, the long range E-3008 and E-5008 can be charged from 20 to 80 per cent in 27 minutes using a 160 kW DC charger.
Both the Peugeot E-3008 and E-5008 long range will be premiered at the Paris Motor Show in October. Order books in Ireland will open before the new year, in time for the 251-registration period.
