Indreabhán-based EireComposites is a design, manufacturing and testing company based in Co. Galway, making a material difference across land, sea and air. It has a deep heritage in light-weight high performance composite materials and aerospace production and provides work to over 70 people in the locality. Parts from its factory have been flying on commercial aircraft since 2008.

AVIC SAC Commercial Aircraft Co. Ltd. designs, tests, manufactures, and distributes airplanes. The company mainly produces civilian airplanes, commercial aircrafts, and related components.

This month, the two organisations shared the co-signing of a significant new contract, which sees EireComposites manufacturing internal components for the esteemed Airbus A220. The company has extensive experience producing parts for flight and has refined its processes over the years to become an attractive partner for aerospace customers.

CEO Tomas Flanagan said that the new contract with SACC is a testament to otheir team and their capabilities;

“It will boost the company and the local area greatly over the coming years, furthering Ireland’s impact on the civil aviation sector,” he said.

This new contract comes off the back of recent additions to EireComposites’ work with Spirit AeroSystems, a leader in the manufacture of aerostructures for commercial airplanes, defense platforms, and business or regional jets.

With support from Udaras na Gaeltachta, the company is moving from strength to strength, and is proud to offer job opportunities through both English and Irish to the people of Connemara.
