Ray O’Donnell, cathedral organist and director of the concert series, says large screens will allow the audience to watch organists at work, conveying all the action from the gallery to the pews below.

Galway’s own Luminosa orchestra headlines this year’s series, joined by organist Peter Barley (St Mary’s Cathedral, Limerick ) and guest musicians, conducted by the cathedral’s own O’Connell.
The concert features Josef Rheinberger’s wonderful organ concerto no.2 in G minor, as well as music by Handel and Hindemith.

Another highlight of this year’s series is organist Judit Máté and her husband Gyula Nagy, a baritone soloist, presenting music marking the centenary of Irish composer Charles Villiers Stanford.
