Harper Holly Geraghty

Based in Claregalway, but hailing from Ballindine, harper Holly Geraghty will release her debut album Musical Musings from Mayo online this weekend, and in Matt Molly’s Pub in Westport next Wednesday, June 26, at 8pm.

This ten-track album pays tribute to the people, music and landscape of Geraghty’s native County Mayo. It features a blend of old and newly composed Irish traditional airs deeply connected to this region.

The album includes guest artists Matt Griffin on guitar, Dan Bodwell and Caimin Gilmore on double bass, with Maria Ryan and Lucia MacPartlin on violin.

Geraghty is a distinguished harper, composer, and educator. Immersed in the world of Irish traditional music from an early age, Holly initially began to play the concertina before moving on to the harp.

Geraghty is a recipient of numerous All-Ireland titles on both instruments and has showcased her talents across Europe, Britain, America, and Canada while also nurturing budding talents at academic institutions and international festivals.

Musical Musings from Mayo is available for purchase from www.hollygeraghty.com and major streaming platforms from June 27.
