An offer by local farmers to cut the grass in Renville Park, Oranmore, should be “considered seriously” by the Galway County Council according to Fine Gael senator Fidelma Healy Eames.
A number of farmers in the Oranmore area have indicated they willing to cut the 30 acres of grass on an on-going basis. They are also prepared to indemnify the county council for insurance purposes.
“Renville Park is in a disgraceful state. The grass is waist high, and litter is strewn on the roadside,” said Sen Healy Eames. “This is a worthwhile offer which can provide a win-win solution for both sides. Let’s select the best offer and get on with the job.”
