21-year-old Galwegian Calum Fox has decided to take on the biggest challenge of his life by opting to run/walk 207km from Dublin to Galway.

Last year, the Petstop Oranmore employee completed a charity run from Galway to Tuam Supermacs to Supermacs.

“Starting my run in Supermacs in Galway beside Monaghan’s Garage would have been a massive achievement to date, so this year, I am going one better, 207klm again to raise money for a charity which is very close to my heart; this charity is CanTeen Ireland.

“I will start in Lucan Circle K and follow across Ireland, finishing in Oranmore Circle K, Galway. It will take me two days to complete and I will be a solo runner. I am hoping to raise €5000 to go towards this amazing cause.

CanTeen Ireland is a charity help organisation which helps kids and teenagers with cancer or who have recently beaten cancer help get back to everyday life by doing rehabilitation fun activities and socialising with other kids/teenagers who also are the same as them.

Calum told the Advertiser that he decided to complete this run to support a charity that has touched the lives of many families across Ireland and other countries.

“IfI want to get as many people as possible from Tuam, Galway, Mayo and all the counties in Ireland to donate to https://www.idonate.ie/fundraiser/CalumFox2 towards this fantastic organisation.

“We would like to thank all our Ssonsors for their help this Run: Supermacs, Petstop Discount, Roots Café, Homeworld Furniture/Born Clothing, Elverys Sports, Woodland Motors, Costello’s Solicitors, Furniture Emporium, Dyna Signs, Tom Dempsey Flooring, Coleman Haulage, Galway Advertiser newspaper, RF Canners, Health+ Galway, Glenkrag, Chanelle, and many more. Finally, I would like to thank my Family and friends for their support and donations,” he said.
