Claregalway amateur dramatists’ production of Kinky Boots has been shortlisted for ‘best overall show 2024’ by the Association of Musical Societies.
At an event in New Ross, Co Wexford last week, the Nine Arch Claregalway Musical Society was also nominated for Best Visuals, Best Choreography, and Best Supporting Actor for Eoin Mullins.
The 9 Arch production team of Alan Greaney, Shane Farrell, and Jay Molyneux previously won the coveted Best Overall Show award in 2022 for Little Shop of Horrors.
The nomination for Best Visuals is a tribute to director Alan Greaney and set designers Marsha Fleming and Eugene Finnigan with John Wright and Indigo Lighting who transformed the Town Hall Theatre into a Northampton shoe factory, London night club, and fashion runway in Milan.
Claregalway’s Jay Molyneux won Best Choreographer in 2022, and all are hoping the cast will bring home another dance award this year.
The INEC Arena in Killarney will host nearly 1,400 musical theatre society members for the AIMS Festival Awards in four weeks time.
