Named as the winner of two 'Friendly Business Awards' for customer care and shop layout and design by the Junior Chamber International (JCI ), Hickey Meats have gone from strength to strength since opening its doors just 12 months ago. The man behind Hickey Meats is Paul Hickey. Having started butchering at just 13 years old, Paul was named as GMIT's Butchery Student of the Year in 2006, and had always dreamed of opening his own shop.
On May 19, 2023, this dream became a reality. Now living the dream, Paul loves to create new, exciting and tasty products from Hickey Meat's west end shop, adoring the buzz of Galway city while being able to chat to customers. Describing the amount of support from the people of Galway as being 'amazing', behind Hickey Meats is a great team of lads who are always happy to help with any questions, whether its about meal inspiration or cooking advice.
