The GWM Ora 03 (née Funky Cat ) has made its debut on TV's most famous cobblestone street, with the quirky Chinese electric vehicle recently making a brief cameo on Coronation Street (insert some obscure Rita/Ora pun here ).
The Ora 03 from Great Wall Motors (GWM ) has been available in Ireland for well over a year now, launching as the Funky Cat before being renamed the 03 as part of the brand's “reworked numerical naming system”. The next car to be introduced here by the Chinese automaker will be the GWM Ora 07, a fully-electric saloon which should be available to order in Ireland before the end of 2024. This will be followed by a compact SUV in 2025.
For now though, the GWM Ora 03 is offered in two trims – the 300 Pro and the 400 Pro+. The latter is powered by a 63 kWh battery with a WLTP range of 420km, while the entry 300 Pro can deliver up to 310km (WLTP ) from its 48 kWh power source. Prices range from €29,995 to €37,995 after current government subsidies.
The GWM Ora 03 comes with an impressive amount of tech as standard. It offers facial and voice recognition, 360-degree cameras, adaptive cruise control, wireless phone charging, internet radio, electric front seats, and 18 inch alloy wheels. Features exclusive to the 400 Pro+ version include an opening panoramic sunroof, power tailgate, auto park assist, massaging and heated front seats, and a heated steering wheel. Using a DC charger, it can be charged to 80 per cent in around 48 minutes.
There are four colour schemes available in Ireland, with metallic paint a €495
