Moycullen’s Seán Forrest, who fights out of the Galway Black Dragon Kickboxing Gym, enjoyed a successful first K-1 fight in Belfast on Sunday, winning by stoppage when his opponent failed to answer the bell for the third and final round.

Sean’s clubmate Tommy O Connor from Salthill lost a close points decision due to a questionable count in the third round of his K-1 rules bout. Both men were accompanied by coach Pete Foley from Annaghdown and corner man Darren Van Strien from Westside, who all made the 750km round trip leaving Galway at 8am and getting home some 14 hours later, having gained invaluable experience in their chosen sport.
