Widely known internationally for their hit single ‘Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm’, Canadian rockers, Crash Test Dummies are coming to Galway this October and tickets are on sale now.
Taking to the stage at Monroe’s Live on Wednesday, October 30 at 8pm, this is a unique opportunity to see the eclectic band as they revisit the songs that made them a global phenomenon.
Led by the soulful bass baritone of singer Brad Roberts, the band's unconventional take on rock music, coupled with eccentric-yet-emotional lyrics catapulted them to fame.
“Touring again was not something we’d planned on,” says lead singer-songwriter Brad Roberts, “but surprisingly – at least to me – there are lots of people who many years later, still want to come and hear us.
“The folks that are coming out to see these shows tell us their stories, some of them very funny, some very dark and all very personal.
“It’s very humbling, being in the confidence of so many people and it has inspired us to continue to tour and make music.”
Since their debut release, The Ghosts That Haunt Me in 1991, The Crash Test Dummies have sold millions of albums, receiving Grammy nominations and worldwide acclaim.
Their 1995 song, ‘The Ballad of Peter Pumpkinhead’ featured on the soundtrack for Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels comedy, Dumb and Dumber.
From Winnipeg, Manitoba, their songs can move from folk laced to funky based, with Roberts having lost none of the vocal tones that makes their work so recognisable.
In 2018, 25 years after the release of their multi-Grammy nominated hit album, God Shuffled His Feet, the band hit the road for the first time in 20 years with their anniversary tour.
The overwhelming reception they received encouraged them to continue and they show no signs of slowing down.
Don’t miss your chance to catch the Crash Test Dummies at Monroe’s Live on Wednesday, October 30, at 8pm as they revive the hits of their heyday.
